What you can expect

>
  • The position comprises a broad spectrum of communication-related tasks, including media relations, stakeholder management, topic-setting, issue management and online communication.
  • As a member of the Communications Team, you will be responsible for communications and public relations work on energy policy issues in Germany at the national level. 
  • You will develop targeted communication strategies, coordinate their realisation in a manner tailored to the specific target group and media source, and evaluate their success. 
  • As a press spokesperson, you will be the first point of contact for supra-regional German media sources and position the company’s activities in Germany. You will build up and cultivate contacts among media sources that cover related issues.
  • You will draft position papers and press releases on energy policy issues in Germany and be responsible for disseminating them to the relevant target groups.
  • You will be responsible for supra-regional crisis communication in Germany and serve as a spokesperson for the company in the event of a crisis. 
  • You will be responsible for monitoring and analysing national media sources. You will follow the energy policy reporting on domestic raw material production and carbon management as well as report to the Management Team on important developments and publicised information. 
  • You will accompany members of the Senior Management Team and specialist colleagues to relevant events as well as discussions and interviews with journalists on energy policy topics (including preparation and follow-up). 
  • You will provide advice within the company on communication-related issues.
  • You are willing to be present in Berlin on a regular basis and to work there independently.

What we expect

  • You should ideally have journalistic training or a university degree in economics/communications, with relevant additional training.
  • You have several years of experience in corporate communications, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present complex technical, political and regulatory issues in an understandable, clear, target group-orientated and technically precise manner.
  • You are enthusiastic about energy policy communication and cultivating a dialogue with various stakeholders at the national level. 
  • You have excellent communication, social and team skills.
  • You work in a structured and forward-looking manner as a team player with self-initiative and diplomatic skills.
  • This position requires a very good command of English as well as an interest in social and energy policy issues.
