Overview
We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join our Juaymah NGL Fractionation Department.
JNGLFD is one of the largest NGL Fractionation centers worldwide that is responsible for providing fractionated feedstock to the petrochemical industry.
Your primary role will be the development, maintenance and implementation of the company safety management system, environmental management system and support project activities during detail design, construction and commissioning phase of the project.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
Provide advice and consultation to department staff to assist them in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards and practices.
Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
Undertake surveys to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions. Participate in various process safety studies/activities, such as: PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, PSSR, SIMOPs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.
Participate in or lead risk studies and conduct consequence analyses, and review engineering designs for compliance with company and industry safety standards.
Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
Provide advice and counsel concerning compliance with corporate safety regulation and procedures. Perform work permit reviews, behavior-based safety inspections, job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepare written reports and recommendations.
Develop controls for identified hazards and coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analyses.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Chemical or Mechanical from a recognized and approved program.
You should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in refining /oil and gas plants /petrochemical industries.
You must be able to demonstrate efficiency in the codes and standards in the oil and gas industry, i.e., API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.
You should have working knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes.
You should have familiarity with development of process safety roadmap, and setting targets of safety key performance indicators.
