Our client is searching for a Production Engineer / Improvement Specialist who will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing manufacturing and industrial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This will include process designing, troubleshooting, process optimization, process analysis, process documentation, quality control, project management, process automation and quality assurance. This role will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement process improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of their organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste, and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new processes, technologies, and equipment.
- Continuously monitor and analyze process data, identifying trends and proposing solutions for process improvement.
- Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct detailed analysis of existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as cycle time, yield, and scrap rate.
- Develop strategies to meet or exceed process performance targets and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce variation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Lead process validation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes, procedures, and equipment, while staying updated on the latest process engineering advancements.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Chemical Engineering Degree / Diploma (Essential)
- Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience in Process Improvements
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), knowledge of Oracle applications would be advantages
- Expertise in process simulations and engineering software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent project management abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and have good communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant local safety, quality and environmental legislation (OHSACT, Explosives Regulation, NEMA Act, Danger goods transportation)
- Must be able to read, write and speak English on a proficient level
