BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Production Accounting Lead assists the Supervisor in leading a team of accounting professionals. This involves leading the production function as it relates to the organization’s production and revenue accounting (PRA) cycle, including process oversight and technical expertise. Production Lead Accountants also ensure the accuracy of recording volumes and volumetric regulatory filings.

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related field

 

EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of 4 years of related Accounting experience; industry experience preferred

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in leading and developing a team of experienced PRA Accountants and assist in the coaching and mentoring of new employees
  • Assist in leading efforts to record and account for all transactions related to the oil and gas production cycle
  • Cooperate with Field Personnel, Regulatory, and Measurement and maintain close cooperation with appropriate leaders
  • Maintain close working relationship with other accounting functions including Revenue, Accruals, and Compliance
  • Assist in leading the analysis and review of monthly variances on volumes
  • Communicate with appropriate teams all activities that affect operations
  • Assist staff with complex problems as they arise using technical expertise and strong leadership skills
  • Learn and understand applicable accounting rules, regulations, and deadlines associated with relevant operating areas
  • Foster a mindset of efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement by focusing on value add activities
  • Be a vocal resource who is unafraid to offer input to the PRA leadership team

  • Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
  • Practice safe work habits at all times

  • Advanced level computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks and manage deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • SAP PRA experience preferred
  • ProdView experience preferred
