We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Production Technician – PFA within our Onshore Resources & Carbon Management EOR Subsurface Surveillance Operations asset based in Seminole, Texas.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, surveillance of general field operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production and operations. Non-scheduled call-outs outside normal business hours can be expected. These types of well include flowing, beam pump (with electronic pump-off controller), plunger lift, water injection and water disposal. Types of facilities include production tank batteries, flowlines, LACT (lease automatic custody transfer) facilities, water injection plants, natural gas compression, cathodic protection and metering devices (electronic gas measurement and others). Job is to be performed employing safe work practices while utilizing acceptable environmental procedures to maximize earnings while minimizing costs on assigned oil and gas producing properties. In addition, the follow responsibilities apply to the Production Tech-PFA role.
· Troubleshoot and investigate failures on well location and make minor repairs (LC cables, position, BP valve, POC)
· Shoot fluid levels on exception wells
· Check wells after pull for alignment, balance, proper setup, etc.
· Collaborate with WOA & WOS to work daily well exceptions
· Work with well analyst to well test evaluation and troubleshoot issues
· Coordinate well chemical treatment and cleanup operations
· Provide input for pulling jobs
· Identify major cost drivers and evaluate processes for opportunities of improvement
· Review daily, weekly, monthly reports and evaluate for opportunities of improvement
· Participate in pattern reviews
- Participate in integrated solution team failure meetings
Qualifications
Education: High school or equivalent education is required. Some college or technical training preferred
Experience: 5+ years oil and gas industry experience preferred
Professional and Technical Knowledge/Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications:
· Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Basic understanding of surface operations
- Advance understanding of troubleshooting wells (ESP, Beam, etc.)
- Basic understanding of LOWIS, EVIN, Graphworx, etc.
- Basic understanding of downhole assembly
- Ability to operate an echometer or fluid shot gun
- Basic understanding of dynamometer cards
- Analyze R/T, cycles, PIP, etc., trends to identify deviations
- Strong initiative and self-starter
· Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritization
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direct supervision
· Technical skills related to math and analytical processes
· Proficiency in the use of personal computer utilizing a windows environment
· Ability to keep neat and accurate records
· General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
