  • Lead and manage the Project Controls team.
  • he overall objective is to provide project controls function for the project, including cost estimating, project planning, project risks coordination, progress measurement and reporting, budgeting and cost control and resource planning.
  • Develop and manage an organization that provides fit for purpose, timely and effective project controls support to the project.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSEQ performance
  • Develop, and submit for approval, cost estimates, resource plans and project schedules for the project at key project stages
  • Support cost and schedule quantitative risk analyses, using probabilistic techniques and use this to support the estimation and management of contingencies.
  • Participate in the development of a project risk register to provide for identification, mitigation and monitoring of project risks.
  • Ensure the provision of suitable project controls tools to optimize compatibility both with BU Mexico recommended systems and the contractors’ systems.
  • Prepare and maintain project cost and planning control strategies, plans and procedures; provide input to the project strategy and associated execution plans.
  • Prepare and maintain the project work breakdown structure to reflect the Kan agreed WBS format.
  • Prepare project controls elements of bid specifications and review tender submissions prior to contract award.
  • Manage the Management of Change process. Develop a Potential Change and Variation Order Proposal Register; account for Potential Changes in cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Maintain timely awareness on project cost and planning performance against budget and schedule; analyze Potential Changes; recommend corrective actions.
  • Agree project arrangements for managing AFEs with the Kan Procurement Manager and BU Mexico Accountant, and implement accordingly.
  • Review contractors’ cost and schedule reports and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Prepare regular and timely progress reports, rolling up contractors’ cost reports and schedules into an overall integrated cost report and overall project schedule, detailing progress against plans and budgets, for circulation to project management, license partners and stakeholders. Prepare the project monthly report, and submit other progress information as requested for management and shareholder reviews.
  • Monitor and review the project controls element of contractor performance throughout the contract life-cycle; recommend corrective action where necessary.

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or relevant domain.
  • Must be certified and Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • 15 years relevant experience, preferably with both operators and contractors.
  • Experience with Mexican field development projects is preferred.
  • Experience leading teams of 5+ professionals while having the responsibility to manage a project or project controls department.
  • Have detailed understanding of offshore (inc. Subsea) and onshore developments, topsides, FPSO developments, related contractors and the latest market developments.
  • Experienced in Risk Management activities in offshore field development projects.
  • MS Project.
