Job Summary

Purpose:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering. The main purpose of this role is to assist with the capital project input to the LRP planning cycle; support and/or coordinate project assurance and approval process; oversee engineering contractors on the FEL studies & execution deliverables to ensure project and engineering excellence; functional support to COPC secondees working in Operator’s offices; project and technical inputs to the evaluation of new exploration & development opportunities and new low carbon & new energy commercial and development opportunities, etc.

Job Description

Purpose:  

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering. The main purpose of this role is to assist with the capital project input to the LRP planning cycle; support and/or coordinate project assurance and approval process; oversee engineering contractors on the FEL studies & execution deliverables to ensure project and engineering excellence; functional support to COPC secondees working in Operator’s offices; project and technical inputs to the evaluation of new exploration & development opportunities and new low carbon & new energy commercial and development opportunities, etc.

Accountabilities and End Results: 

  • Assist in the preparation of the long-range planning for the assigned area.
  • Coordinate the cross functional activities and assurance review in advancing stage gate approvals.
  • Collaborate with reps and secondees to drive towards teamwork and project excellence.
  • Participate in the joint evaluation of new exploration and development opportunities.
  • Participate in evaluation of low carbon & new energy commercial and development opportunities.

Primary Function

  • Place the safety as the top priority and influence EPCI contractors to drive Company’s HSE excellence.
  • Collaborate with partner on development opportunities optimization, development project framing and planning.
  • Participate in the review of FEL study deliverables, work with the BU cross functional team for the preparation of project stage gate approval packages and engage with corporate project team & global chiefs as needed on project reviews, assist and assurance.
  • Work with engineering contractors and partner to align on project scope, schedule, cost, design premises, lessons learned, value improving practices, and constructing to safety and quality standards.
  • Attend the reviews of engineering deliverables including 3D models and constructability and ensure HSE and Quality are integrated into design documents.
  • Coordinate the cross functional inputs into the FEL study and engineering design and assist in preparation of scope of work and other project documents as needed.
  • Participate in schedule and cost reviews and ensure project specifications are followed in the design.
  • Join the walkthrough and system punch-listing, mechanical completion, and pre-commissioning activities, and PSSR’s when working in the yard and offshore.
  • Collaborate with other functions for tasks requiring integrated BU efforts such as the evaluation of new exploration and development opportunities, attending expert review of project FEL study and engineering deliverables, annual update, and preparation of asset retirement obligations (ARO), etc.

Critical Skills:  

  • Knowledge of project system, processes and interactions required to execute a project.
  • Background in technical areas and understanding of estimating process and developing budgets.
  • Experience in working with various engineering disciplines and good understanding of Company and Project HSE and Quality policies, standards, and processes.
  • Interactive skills necessary to coordinate a team of technical professionals.
  • Experience with directing engineering contractors and field experience in construction related activities.
  • Competent in written communications and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred, relevant qualifications with broad project and engineering experiences.
  • 10+ years significant experiences in Projects and Operations in oil & gas industry.

  • Network and engage with key stakeholders on development opportunities assessment and optimization.
  • Influence operator and contractor to align on scope, cost, schedule, risks, and value proposition.  
  • Align the BU cross functional team to drive towards great teamwork and functional excellence.

Other Information: 

Travel 10%

The position will be based in Tanggu or Beijing.
