Bakken Overview

The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 560,000 net acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 178,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.

During 2022, net production averaged 95 MBOED. There were 43 operated wells brought online during 2022, bringing the total to more than 800 operated wells online at year-end.

Description

The Bakken Project Execution Planner is an exciting new role that will lead efforts in implementing and realizing the DOE benefits of the Bakken Constructability Review Process while supporting the greater initiatives of the integrated planning journey within the Bakken O&M team. The selected candidate will report to the Williston Planning & Scheduling Supervisor within the Bakken Maintenance & Reliability organization.

This position can be based in Dickinson, North Dakota or Watford City, North Dakota.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Implementation and execution of the Bakken Constructability Review Process in collaboration with the engineering and execution teams, leadership, and all support groups
  • Collaborate with Surface Projects Supervisor, I&E Supervisor, P&S Supervisor, Base Projects Facilities Engineering Supervisor and any additional functional representatives to identify upcoming projects that will use a constructability review
  • Create execution schedules for use in upcoming projects, with the ability to leverage previous execution schedules
  • Schedule both the execution schedule building session, and the constructability review, based on the timing outlined in the outlook schedule and per the Bakken Constructability Process guidance
  • Primary facilitator of the execution schedule building session and constructability review with the assistance of the Surface Projects and I&E Supervisors
  • Update the execution schedule based on inputs from both the execution schedule building session and the constructability review
  • Primary facilitator of the base projects execution After-Action Review (AAR) with the assistance of the Surface Projects and I&E Supervisors
  • Collaborate with the Base Project Planning Coordinator to identify projects that require constructability reviews, incorporate outputs from constructability and after-action reviews, and other support of the integrated plan, as needed
  • Contribute to the base project outlook framing sessions
  • Create, maintain, and present Key Performance Indicators to Asset Leadership regarding Bakken Constructability Review effectiveness and its impact on DOE and Downtime reduction
  • Serve as backup to the Base Project Planning Coordinator, and all other planning roles as needed, especially through demand from group for nxtgenERP framing and go-live

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • 5+ years of oil and gas experience, oilfield facilities and infrastructure projects
  • 1+ years of planning & scheduling or Project Lead field execution experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or foreign equivalent
  • 1+ years as a project lead, executing surface facility modification projects (Mechanical or I&E)
  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP PM environment
  • Experience using DSO Upstream and/or Primavera P6 planning software
  • Ability to prepare and integrate schedules within a multiple project environment
  • Ability to prepare for and facilitate large cross-functional review sessions, capturing action items and drive team performance to deliver on commitments
  • Ability to develop reports and presentations, and to present to management
  • Ability to interpret and analyze project schedules, assess logic, provide forecasts, and advise recovery plans
  • Ability to work within a diverse cultural and organizational environment
  • Ability to recognize and administrate Project Schedule needs within resource planning, progress measurement, and change management
  • Efficient written and verbal communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet deadlines
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
