Our client, a midstream company, is seeking a Project Engineer/Manager to work a 16-month contract in Calgary, AB.
The successful candidate will provide Project Management expertise to support the execution and development of growth, sustaining and expense projects.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute projects safely, on-budget, on-schedule and compliant with all applicable operating or industry standards, codes, rules, regulations, and company standards
- Development of projects including cost estimates ranging between Class 5 and Class 2, detailed scope of work, project schedule and risk analyses.
- Establish, maintain, and build relationships between all key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the overall AFE process of a project to ensure financial compliance and ensure all spending is in accordance with established guidelines.
- Reviewing and facilitating approval for all project scope changes ensuring that the principle of lowest life-cycle cost management is applied while adhering to applicable management of change procedures.
- Monitoring and reporting on progress of the project to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and review engineering work performed by internal and third-party resources when outside of the Project Engineer’s scope of practice.
- Develop, manage and adherence to all project documentation including design basis memorandum, project execution plan and construction execution plan.
- Ensure all necessary documents, contracts, agreements, and approvals are in place prior to execution of any work.
- Ensure commissioning and handover of projects to Field Operations is performed seamlessly.
Educations, Skills & Experience
- An engineering degree and registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer are essential for this position.
- The Project Engineer typically has at least 10+years of industry experience
- Demonstrated project management skills (planning, cost and scope tracking and reporting) and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledgeable in current operating standards, codes, rules, and regulations that relate to pipeline operations and associated equipment
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the pipeline industry while working for an owner operator is a strong asset
- Ability to perform feasibility studies, coordinate the input of others, analyze information, and meet deadlines
