Subsea7 are looking for a Project Operations Manager to join our Global Projects Centre (GPC) to be based in our Sutton, London office. GPC is Subsea 7’s centre of excellence for the execution of its largest and most complex projects and tenders worldwide.
The Project Operations Manager (POM) is accountable to the Project Manager for the safe and efficient execution of overall project operations, in accordance with planning constraints, associated cost envelope and project quality Requirements.
The POM is responsible for the co-ordination of the marine spread and onshore operations during the execution of Projects.

What will you be doing?
· Be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the work onshore and offshore making sure adequate preparation and anticipation for upcoming activities with special focus to vessels port calls and offshore operations.
· Ensure that all aspects of Group & Project processes and procedures regarding Security, Safety, Health & Quality are implemented on each of the worksites under his/her responsibility.
· Ultimately be responsible for the readiness process of onshore and offshore operations including timely approval to proceed.
· Build and administer the offshore schedule with the support of more junior operations engineers or planners. Define the overall logic for the offshore schedule based on constraints and projects milestones, identify the critical path, manage floats and contingencies including learning curves and backup plans for what-if scenarios and changes.
· Track vessels performance during execution so to identify negative trends and areas of improvement during port calls and whilst offshore through close monitoring of the offshore schedule. Keep the offshore as-built schedule up to date and feed back performance and norms to the vessel and to the tendering department.
· Select the spread for the offshore operations including Subsea7 construction vessels and 3rd-party chartered construction, support and transportation vessels.
· Define the scope of work (SOW) for each vessel and liaise closely with the operational personnel (OMT) and Vessel Operations Managers (VOMs) to ensure the defined scopes are optimised accordingly.
· Plan and manage onshore operations personnel in-country and out of country.
· Be responsible for the marine spread assurance including relevant surveys and audits. Responsible to ensure the suitability and readiness of the project equipment and of the crew including capability and familiarization with the SOW and with the plan.
· Drive the early engagement with the vessels to ensure the crews can positively contribute to the installation methodology defined by Engineering and the overall planning of the work.
· Engage as early as possible the Pipeline Group and Installation Engineers to ensure installation of the products and that the installation methodology is in line with expectations for operability in particular with respect to waiting on weather.
· Liaise with SCM Chartering Manager to ensure scopes for third party vessels are appropriate and where possible functional requirements are included in the Charter Party / Subcontract Agreement
· Define the transportation philosophy and strategy for the project and liaise with Logistics Manager and In-Country Operations Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
· Support installation feasibility / support Engineering for Preliminary Hazards Analysis reviews involving OMTs and VOMs prior to initiating the detailed Installation Engineering.
· Review and Comment the Operations MDR and contribute to Installation Engineering documents.
· Support installation engineers with vessel changes and sequence changes.
· Support Engineering in identifying all tasks to be performed and in providing constraints between them.
· Review time estimates provide by the Installation Engineering team and by the field engineers.
· Liaise with the Installation Engineers and the Pipeline Group (PG), oversee the development of installation procedures to ensure compliance with Contract and the various requirement identified in the Project reviews.
· Define SOW for Subcontractors / Vessel Owners and ensure requirements are properly and appropriately cascaded into the Subcontract / Charter agreements. Monitor SCM selection of subcontractor’s on operations related issues
· Prepare the SIMOPS plan in conjunction with other stakeholders
· Identify the key Operations deliverables and establish the platform to support an effective tender submission through development of the schedule, cost comparisons, vessel and personnel operational requirements to be compliant with client specifications and gap analysis
What experience would we like you to have?

· Experience in sub-sea construction is required
· High proficiency with Microsoft Project and building offshore schedules including defining the overall logic and constraints, identifying the critical path, determining and managing float to milestones and to other critical activities.
· Experience in offshore operations, having worked on board installation vessels and been deputy operations manager or project operations manager on a previous project
· Skilled in the co-ordination of multiple interfaces across functions
· Excellent work ethic, “go get it” attitude, willing to work in changeable environments to meet tight deadlines whilst delivering quality outcomes.
· Mobility to travel to all international locations for short business trips or as expat, extensive international experience preferred.
· Fluent in English. Knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.
· Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
