About Houston
ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The Project Senior Safety, Security, Health and Environmental (SSHE) Advisor, as part of a Project Team, will report to the SSHE Manager for a portfolio of major projects. The Project Senior SSHE Advisor will assist the SSHE Manager in ensuring each project has the technical and leadership services, support, and awareness needed to achieve SSHE visions and goals. This job role ensures that the tools, resources, and support are fit for purpose, providing stewardship, analysis, direction and management team support to drive the organization to achieve SSHE objectives and priorities.
What you will do
- Act as Deputy to the SSHE Manager as required for Key Stakeholder engagement and in support of effective management of global reach of projects
- Collaborates and coordinates with SSHE Manager and Project Leadership to understand SSHE strategies and support needs and develop improvement plans
- Assist SSHE Manager in ensuring that the SSHE group is adequately staffed with appropriate skill sets to provide quality SSHE resources and services to each project
- Assist Project SSHE leads with planning and coordinating high priority scopes (e.g. Offshore scopes)
- Collaborates with Deepwater Leadership Team and Project Leadership in the development of both short-term and longer-term (5-year) SSHE goals, objectives and deliverables; stewards SSHE Team delivery
- Liaises across Global Projects and other Business Units on SSHE issues to ensure that best practices utilization and continuous improvement processes are in place and effectively applied, as well as identifies synergies/common processes, where appropriate
- Assist SSHE Manager and Project SSHE leads with strategic communications on overall programs and project specific SSHE issues
- Oversight for SSHE stewardship and reporting
- Promotes collaboration and teamwork; creates a work environment where different perspectives are valued; effectively manages conflict
The role may also include:
- Project specific planning support, not limited to SSHE
- Sharing and implementation of lessons from incidents, near misses and best practices
About You
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10-15 years’ prior experiences in oil and gas industry is preferred
- Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills
- Strong analytics, logical reasoning capabilities
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and remoteness
- Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analysis requests
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexible to travel to project sites if needed
- Technical degree
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
• Demonstrated work experience for client organizations: preferred in upstream and megaprojects (>$500M)
• Project planning and communication experience
