JOB TITLE: RELIABILITY AND MAINTENANCE CONSULTANT

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s ‘Nine Golden Rules of Safety’

  • Live’ our Petrofac Values/behaviours and apply them in day-to-day work

  • Be leading and exhibiting the right standards of behaviour and professionalism

  • Adherence and compliance with Petrofac Security policies for travel and technology

  • Adherence and compliance with the Petrofac BMS

  • Be prepared to act as a mentor to junior staff

  • Sales, Proposals and Tender Development

  • Support the Business Development Team in the identification and pursuit of sales and marketing opportunities

  • Support the Business Development Team in the preparation, and review of proposals/tenders in the area of expertise

  • Project Management – small projects & technical studies

  • Comply with BMS processes for the project lifecycle i.e. from set up, through to execution and close out of work packages

  • Manage the project team, including contractors and vendors, to deliver technical projects in line with contract scope of work and budget

  • Assume responsibility for the financial and technical performance of the project

  • Provide periodic revenue forecasts and resource requirements

  • Have a detailed knowledge of, and deliver quality work in some areas of Reliability and Maintenance, including combinations of:

  • Data definition standards for Maintenance Builds

  • MEL validation and hierarchy build

  • Maintenance strategy development methods inc RCM, FMEA

  • Maintenance planning and scheduling

  • Equipment Reliability analysis, inc RCA

  • MAH, SCE identification and management, PS development

  • Be part of a team or manage small teams delivering technical projects in line with contract Scope of Work and budget

  • Act as technical lead of individual project CTRs in area of own expertise.  With responsibility for delivery, quality and resource.  Providing progress and risk reporting to the Project Manager

  • Identify new work/project extension opportunities when supporting project delivery

  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of techniques, best practices and statutory requirements appropriate to the business, through appropriate means, i.e. review of periodicals, attendance at conferences/user groups, etc.,

  • Work closely with clients to understand their issues and offer innovative cost effective solutions.

  • Financial accountability with respect to budgetary control and management of small projects and technical studies

  • Supporting the winning of work through technical domain expertise and therefore contributing to the financial closure of prospects in support of the ~$5m R&M business

  • As a Project Manager and/or CTR Technical Lead there is a requirement to ensure deliverables are provided to the required standard and timeframe utilising a defined budget.  To achieve this a Consultant is required to fully understand the scope under their direction, the agreed requirements and constraints presented by the client and the dynamic issues and opportunities offered during the life of a project.

  • Shaping solutions to customer problems and supporting the drafting of technical proposals to help align our propositions to client requirements.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

  • Engineering Degree qualified preferred or HND in engineering discipline/experience as a discipline engineer

  • Some understanding of the project management process

  • Computer Literate with good capability in the MS Office suite of programs

  • Good interpersonal skills, able to establish and manage relationships with colleagues and clients

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to listen, engage, empathise and be decisive, offering solutions to client issues.

  • Represent Petrofac in a professional manner
