Job Description:

Our client is in need of a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in reliability engineering for heavy mobile equipment to join their team in Southern Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure long-term reliability and efficiency of equipment.
  • Minimize downtime and maintenance costs and improving operational efficiency through preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Developing and implementing reliability strategies to improve mechanical system performance.
  • Preventing recurring problems through failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Developing equipment improvement plans through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Recommending and overseeing upgrades and modifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and industry standards, safety regulations and policies.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Accredited University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7 years previous experience in reliability engineering and asset management for HME within the mining sector.
  • Well-versed in large equipment brands such as Hitachi, Caterpillar or similar.
  • Budgeting and cost control experience.
  • Computer literate in MS Office, MS Projects and CMMS.
  • Experience in reliability analysis tools and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural, diverse teams.
  • Previous expatriate experience in Africa preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
