Hess
Position Summary:
As a Reliability Operator for Hess, you will work under the direction of a supervisor and will be responsible for the daily operation of all produced water equipment on the assigned route. You will be accountable for system optimization and will be required to perform minor maintenance on assigned equipment. Furthermore, you will be expected to accomplish your daily work, in compliance with company policies and procedures including environmental, health, and safety standards. You will work directly with other members of the asset team, to ensure that company goals are met. This role’s effectiveness is measured by meeting departmental goals, reducing operating costs, and or improving safety for the company and its employees. This position schedule consists of 10-hour workdays for 8 consecutive days, then 6 consecutive days off.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Relay operating/safety problems or concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform preventative (Autonomous) maintenance on water-gathering equipment.
- Perform minor repairs on failed operating equipment.
- Adhere to written operating procedures for shutdown and startup of equipment.
- Adhere to lockout/ tagout procedures in preparing equipment for maintenance work.
- Actively participate in various elements of process safety.
- Actively participate in tailgate safety meetings, JSA’s, and monthly safety meetings.
- Participate in emergency response activities as required.
- Participate in HazOp reviews as required.
- Daily review of Theta, XSpoc, and Iconics, ODR for reporting and exception monitoring.
- Assist in keeping well locations free of trash, weeds, and general clutter
- Perform daily SPCC inspections and document results.
- Checking water gathering pipelines and facilities making sure everything is running.
- General knowledge of well pads and associated water-gathering networks.
- Making sure roads and locations are clear and safe to travel for water trucks.
- Maintain a good working relationship with water haulers.
- Having knowledge of water transfer skids, how they operate, and being able to diagnose if problems arise.
- Circulating bottoms of tanks out when necessary.
- General knowledge of truck operations to ensure safe loading/unloading practices
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Experience/Skills
- Industrial / Oilfield experience
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of safety requirements and practices
- Must be able to read and understand instructions communicated in English, bilingual is a plus.
- Self-starter, able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Ability to recognize changes and possible problems.
- Requires ability to adapt to fluctuating work schedule, i.e., frequent overtime; off duty call outs; varied work schedule.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Complexity of Duties:
- Determine if a safety hazard exists and take appropriate action.
- Operate a variety of equipment and makes minor repairs. Equipment includes but is not limited to, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Work with multi-discipline teams to optimize production to meet or exceed operating expectations.
- Input production data into a computer program.
- Recommend changes to improve safety, production, and or lower costs.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Drug Test
- Background Test
- Physical – a standard fitness for duty test
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to climb stairs, as required on 10, 15, 20 & 25- foot production tanks.
- Ability to lift 55 lbs., 3 feet above ground level.
- Work with numerous oil field chemicals, including but not limited to soap, methanol, paraffin inhibitor, and scale inhibitor.
- Ability/comfortable with working at heights” up to 25’
- Periodic exposure to all types of weather conditions for long periods of time.
- Ability to wear hearing protection while working in high-noise environments.
- Ability to regularly work in a potentially dangerous and fast-paced environment.
- Field Time (“go see”, meetings/collaboration) – 90%
