ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

  • Develop and manage portfolio of agreements for offshore drilling rigs (drill ships, semisubmersibles, jack ups, and/or platform drilling and workover rigs) including overall responsibility to drive value and efficiency and expand market advantage via end-to-end category management (from strategy to implementation)
  • Located in ExxonMobil Houston Campus in Spring, TX

What you will do

 

  • Responsible for stewarding contracting process with ownership of commercial negotiations for rigs agreements
  • Act as a senior commercial expert with a deep market expertise towards the business
  • Develop deep understanding of offshore rigs market – follow market trends, know the supplier landscape, and learn about the latest technologies- to provide early input to drill teams on rig contracting strategy and identify opportunities to improve commercial approaches.
  • Build strong relationships / collaborate across the Wells organization and broader Procurement Team on category planning, contracting strategy development, and project execution
  • Implement innovative commercial strategies and provide commercial guidance to the business in the rigs space
  • Identify business value and rationalization opportunities within the portfo Create and implement innovative contracting strategies with guidance from Category Manager
  • Execute competitive bids, concurrent negotiations, renewals, etc. for given portfolio
  • Track cost avoidance, cost mitigation, and business enhancement results
  • Supplier relationship management: establish and maintain regularly interface with rig contractors to resolve issues, negotiate contracts, and identify commercial optimizations
  • Responsible for international portfolio with daily interactions both internally and externally with different cultures allowing development of International Business experience and opportunity to mentor procurement colleagues around the world as required
  • Manage contracting process under complex regulatory and partner procurement requirements while achieving full compliance with ExxonMobil controls. Requiring a key mix of project management and organization skills, as well as ownership and sense of urgency to support the business partner through full contracting process and deliver contracts in a timely manner
     

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • BS, MBA, MS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • A minimum of 10 years of Upstream/Drilling experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with contracting (marketing) offshore drilling rigs either from operator or rig contractor perspective

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Procurement / commercial functional expertise
  • Procurement experience in the Oil and Gas Industry (Upstream / Drilling strongly preferred)
  • Strong commercial skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strategic
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • Project planning / execution / organization skills
  • Analytical skills / understanding of total system cost concept
