Secondary Engineer – High Voltage – Netherlands

We are seeking a highly skilled Secondary Engineer to join my clients High Voltage team. This role focuses on complex technical challenges within high-voltage infrastructure, including the design, implementation, and optimization of secondary systems. These systems encompass control, protection, and auxiliary power installations, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of high-voltage substations and grids.

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to expanding and upgrading energy grids, high-voltage substations, and other infrastructure for industrial customers and European grid operators (Transmission System Operators, TSOs). This role combines expertise in electrical engineering with a focus on high-voltage secondary systems, making it an exciting and dynamic opportunity for professionals in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Translating customer requirements into safe, reliable, and efficient technical designs for high-voltage secondary systems.
• Performing calculations and analyses to ensure optimal system performance.
• Coordinating testing and validation activities within established standards and specifications.
• Advising on and developing designs for control systems, auxiliary power systems, and protection installations.
• Documenting, reporting, and effectively communicating project developments.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across various engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary designs. While the role primarily focuses on secondary systems, elements of control and instrumentation engineering may be applied to align with the demands of high-voltage infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Instrument / Control Systems.
• Several years of relevant experience in high-voltage engineering, specifically within secondary systems.
• Familiarity with tools such as PLS CADD, ELCAD, and BIM.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
