Summary
The Position Title will report to the Supervisor, Operations Finance & Fixed Assets.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and reconciliation of fixed assets
- Record/process fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and transfers in the accounting system
- Facilitate cross-border asset transfers
- Take the lead on booking asset transactions and verifying the proper presentation of legal entity statements
- Review and analyze fixed asset additions to ensure compliance with the current capitalization policy
- Create WBS projects and ensure they are approved in accordance with corporate policies, track and manage costs/spending, and close in a timely manner
- Complete month-end settlements, depreciation, continuities, and other related reports for assets and provide to corporate controllers for financial statements
- Provide Operations with guidance on WBS projects and work orders including reporting, classification, and training
- Assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Ensure all internal controls are adhered to and in compliance with SOX with monthly review and sign-off
- Completing internal and external audit requests
- Issue Net Book Value reports (ad hoc reports) upon request
- Review and manage third-party projects; Liaise with Billings and Marketing to ensure third-party customers are billed appropriately, as required
- Review and manage leased assets
- Designated accounting duties as required
- Performing special projects as required
Knowledge & Skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
Proven ability to perform under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in the face of competing priorities
Proficient in MS Office applications
Education
Post- Secondary Diploma or degree with a focus in accounting is required
Professional accounting designation would be preferred
Experience
5+ years of related finance or accounting experience
Solid accounting/GAAP knowledge
Experience in SAP would be an asset
Oilfield services industry experience would be considered an asset
Knowledge of accounting procedures, financial reporting, and information systems
