Job Profile Summary:

The Senior Community Relations Professional, working under limited supervision, is responsible for performing complex tasks associated with the establishment and management of public and community affairs within the organization. The role serves as the primary link between organization employees and the communities where the organization has a business presence. This role operates independently in coordinating the organization’s community outreach efforts, while also representing the company at community and industry functions. The role includes providing mentorship to more junior staff, contributing significantly to the strategic success of the organization’s community engagement initiatives.

 

Job Description:

  • Serves as the organization’s primary point of contact for community engagement, fostering robust connections within designated geographical areas and assessing community needs.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive community outreach plans strategically integrating partnerships, events, and volunteer initiatives to create a meaningful and lasting impact.
  • Monitors local media articles related to civic and community initiatives proactively, consistently providing valuable insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Creates and manages relationship with key community stakeholders who strengthen the organization’s standing and impact within the community.
  • Represents the company at community events and industry functions, delivering presentations and speeches. serving as a compelling advocate for the organization.
  • Examines the effectiveness of community programs through reporting and analytics utilizing insights to adapt strategies for continuous improvement and ensuring they align with community needs and organizational objectives.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends solutions independently, collaborates across disciplines, and demonstrates advanced project management skills, contributing to company performance and goals.
  • Works under limited supervision, leads concurrent projects, mentors less-experienced professionals, and initiates change, driving improvements within the discipline.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Community Relations specializing in areas such as Conflict Resolution, Community Outreach Event Management, Community Educational Programs Design, Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
