About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Engineer position based at our offices in Brisbane. Reporting to the GLNG Reliability Team Leader, this key position will ensure the safe and reliable operation of instrumentation, controls & electrical (IC&E) equipment by providing engineering support to the GLNG plant and pipelines. 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide technical support for instrumentation, controls & electrical (IC&E) equipment 
  • Identify risks related to the IC&E equipment. Support risk assessment and closure by implementing rectification plans. 
  • Identify maintenance strategy optimisation opportunities and provide technical review/endorsement to changes in Reliability Management Plans (RMPs) related to IC&E equipment. 
  • Participate in and support failure investigations / root cause analyses, technical audits, and compliance assessments for IC&E equipment issues.
  • Leads discipline engineering excellence, governance, and assurance of safety barrier / performance standards effectiveness. Assures cybersecurity compliance is always met. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Standards and Codes. 
  • Actively mentor graduate and junior engineers.

About You

The successful individual will possess a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or instrumentation, as well as be eligible for RPEQ (e.g., Chartered Engineer). In addition, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Extensive experience in instrumentation, controls & electrical engineering in an operations support role in oil and gas, petrochemical or similar industry. Major hazard facility (MHF) experience preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of the relevant technical standards and regulatory framework relating to the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Skilled in integrated control and safety systems and knowledge in operational technology cyber security.
  • Skilled design verification of process instrumentation, actuated and control valves.
  • Skilled in Electrical Power generation and distribution engineering.

It is expected that you will also be able to demonstrate the following technical competencies:

  • Competent use and knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) preferably SAP
  • Competent in Hazardous Area / EEHA
  • Competent in Functional Safety, SIL, LOPA, Bowties

In addition, Function Safety Engineer and Hazardous Area certification will be looked upon favourably.
