Job Profile Summary:
The Senior Emergency Management Professional, working under limited supervision, is responsible for coordinating and executing complex activities and arrangements for organization’s emergency management department. The role is responsible for conducting and supporting crisis management exercises, as well as providing expertise and thought leadership in crisis management. The role involves working with other stakeholders to identify risk exposures and addressing them via planning and exercising, in addition to being on-call to assist activations of local, area and enterprise crisis management teams. The role is responsible for maintaining organization’s physical infrastructure and ensuring alignment with operational needs and strategic goals.
Job Description:
- Works under limited supervision, leads concurrent projects, mentors less-experienced professionals, and initiates change, driving improvements within the emergency management department.
- Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends emergency and crisis management solutions independently, collaborates across business functions, and demonstrates advanced project management skills, contributing to company performance and goals.
- Drives complex, multi-team projects for incidents and crisis management, partnering with communications groups across company to develop and mature response communications processes and procedures.
- Maintains program components to ensure crisis management team readiness, supporting crisis management exercises and actual events for the enterprise and senior leadership.
- Develops and administers a crisis management toolkit and oversees the data, including working with other teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Defines and executes communications strategies for issues with significant corporate and/or product brand impact and provides executive communications and analysis to leaders and various stakeholders across the company during the lifecycle of the issue.
- Works with an elite team of engineers to identify, design and develop solutions for Crisis Management, preventing and improving response to outages.
- Counsels communications group partners on response best practices to avoid potential pitfalls, providing proactive avoidance expertise inherent in reactive issues management.
- Creates an environment that fosters innovation and enables continuous improvement of the Crisis Management program and continuously aligns the Crisis Management program with the Company strategy, providing thought leadership and expertise.
- Responsible for infrastructure and operability engineering to build world-class services that are easy to operate, reliable, and used as building blocks for other services.
- Drives consistency in After Action Reports and ensures follow-up of all action items, prioritization of the action items for remediation/resolution.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency And Crisis Management, Environmental Health And Safety, Business Continuity, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as Emergency Management, Crisis Oral & Written Communication, Risk Assessment, Hazard Analysis, or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
