About Houston

 

ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

 

By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. What role you will play on our team

 

The Sr. Executive Writer position will help enhance the company’s reputation through compelling communications on policy, financial, technology, or business matters that are fundamental to the future of our industry. This person will write and develop content for senior executives and subject-matter experts for a variety of formats, including speeches, blogs, white papers, publications, and other materials. The ability to write for digital, audio, video, and other multi-media formats is a plus. The Sr. Executive Writer position reports to the Manager of Executive and Financial Communications within Public & Government Affairs.

What you will do

 

  • Develop and write clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of formats, including speeches, blogs, policy papers, white papers, publications, talking points, and briefing materials
  • Translate complex technical, financial, scientific, and policy information into accessible and high-readability content for diverse audiences
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy and depth of content
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to company standards
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate relevant information into writing projects
  • Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content
  • Provide strategic input on content development and communication plans
     

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • 8-12 years of professional writing experience, preferably in a corporate, financial, or political environment
  • Proven ability to write about complex technical, financial, scientific, and policy matters with high readability
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and content management systems

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Experience writing for senior executives and high-profile clients
  • Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and concepts
  • Experience with digital content creation and search-engine optimization (SEO) best practices
