Our Client is an industrial business operating in the energy sector. A Senior Finance Assistant is now required to join the busy team in Birkirkara.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, this role will include maintaining the integrity of financial data; facilitating timely payments; assisting in financial reporting; and handling bank reconciliations, expense reporting and accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Cataloguing, validating, and posting vendor invoices.
- Maintaining Accounts Payable ledger
- Preparing monthly payment runs and ensuring accuracy in payment processing
- Preparing purchase requests
- Performing regular bank reconciliations and updating bank accounting entries
- Updating expenses report for the Board of Directors (BOD) and C-level executives; preparing related reports
- Controlling and reconciling petty cash transactions.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Assisting with annual audits and supporting Head of Accounting in preparing the annual Financial Statements.
- Assisting with end-of-month closing process
- Preparing quarterly expenses recharges and generating invoices for the Head of Accounting.
Talent will:
- Possess an Advanced Diploma in Accounting or similar
- Have a good understanding of IRFS standards
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting
- Have excellent communication skills in English
- Have experience using accounting software and financial management tools
- Show a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
