Senior Geology Manager (Silver / Underground /Expat) – Morocco, North Africa

Our client, a mining house with operations in Morocco is seeking a Senior Geology Manager to join their team. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of geology at their Underground Silver mine, including resource definition, mine planning and production geology.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of geologists, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and professional development.
• Oversee all exploration activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Manage the geological resource model, including resource estimation, classification, and reporting in accordance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term mine plans, ensuring efficient and safe extraction of copper ore.
• Provide geological support to production operations, including grade control, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and maintain geological databases and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in the geological function.
• Contribute to the overall health and safety culture of the mine site.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining geology.
• Silver experience would be advantageous.
• Master’s degree in Geology or a related field (preferred).
• Capability to operate within challenging social environments characterized by extensive union engagement.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of geologists.
• Strong understanding of exploration techniques, resource estimation methodologies, and mine planning principles.
• Proficient in geological modeling software (e.g., Micromine, Leapfrog)
