In this role, you will provide leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. You will insure appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices, developing notions on midterm developments for own department and elaborates suggestions for strategic plan of the larger unit (be it function or business unit).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Counselling Baker Hughes business on global export control and sanctions requirements, applies for governmental export licenses, and provides compliance advice and oversight for international trade activities on a global basis.
- Developing influencing skills to achieve objectives, strong influencing of others and developing team members.
- Advising the business and functions on Export Controls Rules and Regulations, Sanctions regulations, and import/export customs matters relevant to the jurisdiction and specific to the business needs and operations.
- Coordinating with other areas in the application of in-country export control licenses for licensable goods when required, in coordination with the Classification team.
- Managing process integration of Trade Compliance rules and regulations into key business and functional procedures within Europe region.
- Monitoring and communicating new international trade laws, rules and regulations changes in the region impacting the business and translate them in internal communications for business operations.
- Supporting Regional Compliance Review Board meetings, as requested.
- Developing business procedures and conduct training for business and functions in region, in coordination with other team members, as needed.
- Leading audits and risk assessments programs in the region as needed.
- Managing compliance audits conducted by external parties such as Customs and other regulatory agencies in region.
- Supporting the internal investigation team with investigations in region.
- Monitoring business unit performance to ensure that legal compliance requirements are implemented and adequate.
- Conducting and reviewing regulatory compliance due diligence for new business opportunities and acquisitions.
- Travelling domestically and internationally as required

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, with proven experience in International Trade Compliance.
- Show knowledge of EU Export Control Regulations, Economic Sanctions and regulations.
- Display knowledge of various in-country import and export rules and regulations is important and good understanding of the compliance risk profile of region countries.
- Show excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Display good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Be able to work independently, prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Show proficient and effective communication skills in both oral and written form including strong presentation skills
- Be pragmatic, business-oriented, approach to challenges and competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrate ability to engage business line leaders to drive implementation of new procedures and legal requirements in a timely manner.
