BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Senior Lease Operator plays a pivotal role in the monitoring and maintenance of oil and gas lease sites across their assigned region. Operating with limited oversight, this individual is tasked with the comprehensive management of daily operational data, including the accurate recording of gas and/or liquid volumes, well pressures, and chemical usage specific to their routes. Responsibilities extend beyond mere data quality assurance and control; they are fundamentally involved in devising and implementing strategic solutions to routine lease challenges. As a key figure, the Senior Lease Operator also serves as a valuable resource, offering guidance and mentorship to team members.

 

EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 3 years industry related experience

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead fugitive gas emissions troubleshooting, Lease Operator training, and understanding of related systems (VRU, Flare, Blower, & Facility design)

• Implement critical tasks such as chemical treatments, LOTO, bubble tower cleanouts, etc.
• M1 completion and oversite. (Assistant Foreman, Foreman, Planner)
• Lease Operator field operations training and mentorship

• Lease Operator relief backfill as needed
• Aid in the compliance & maintenance of all emissions and site security programs (Seal recording, AVO inspections)
• Perform operational checks of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities

• Data QA/QC
• Record run time, fuel usage and operating parameters into production accounting software
• Conduct production Load and Test and perform minor repairs

• Identify producing well alarms and work with automation to adjust alarms as necessary
• Monitor progress of minor subsurface well maintenance limited to non-programs BOPE jobs (i.e., plunger maintenance, hot oil/water, regulatory, routine testing, batch/chemical/scale jobs, cap string inspection, PLC alarm and pump card interpretation).
• Collaborate with Engineer, Optimization Operator & Decision Support Center Production Analyst concerning wells and lease activities

• General lease site upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash)
• Communicates corrective maintenance needs to Planner Scheduler
• Ensure accuracy of run tickets as required

• Represent the company in delivery/receipt of materials and equipment
• Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Environmental Health and Safety Department
• Secure and maintain all Company equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles, and analysis or test equipment

• Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected
• Provide field wide contact with all personnel in the event of emergency or other significant occurrences
• Maintain positive relationship with local, state/province, and Federal representatives and surface owners

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Oil and gas industry experience required

• Practice safe work habits at all times
• Strong commitment to safety and environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to work within a team environment
• Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
• Position requires operation of Company vehicles. Incumbent must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Company policies
