Description

The Williston & Rockies Partner Operated Asset team is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer with a background in business development, portfolio planning, unconventional reservoir performance forecasting and reserves estimation. If you are selected as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, you will be a key contributor to assembling, executing and influencing the plan of development for a highly mature and low cost of supply asset in ConocoPhillips’ Lower 48 portfolio.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

  • Leading business development initiatives including acquisition and divestiture (A&D) opportunity screening, acreage trades and wellbore sales to optimize the OBO portfolio
  • Leading inventory & type curve characterization for undeveloped non-operated acreage and influence partners on optimizing development plans
  • Supporting competitor benchmarking and standard process knowledge sharing on well execution, operating costs and partner plan of development
  • Supporting Business Planning and Finance functions with all business outlooks, budget forecasting and Long Range Planning (LRP)
  • Leading reserves and resource estimation in alignment with SEC and corporate ConocoPhillips’ guidelines

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or foreign equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience with unconventional reservoirs
  • Experience with evaluating acquisitions & divestitures, acreage trades and wellbore sales
  • Experience with production and pressure transient analysis tools
  • Proficient understanding of decline curve analysis techniques and fluid flow regime classification
  • Experience leading technical and economic analysis of partner ballots/AFEs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work optimally within multi-functional teams supporting concurrent projects
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
