SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

Essential Qualifications and Job scope:
 
Qualification

• Diploma / higher technical qualification from a college / university in an engineering / science / technology subject but preferably in Structural Engineering or a minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in this position.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years detailed design engineering of brownfield modifications to oil and gas  or similar facilities which must include offshore conversant with Shell DEP’s, international  codes and standards.
• Majority of the above experience should be working within a multi-cultural environment.
• Exposure to document management systems is preferred.
• Proficient with computer software including AutoCAD, 3D Modelling, Microsoft Office.
• Able to perform QA/QC on drawing deliverables including Verification of data accuracy,consistency, and quality of drawing format & presentation for symbology, layering, line  types, borders, formats and drawing numbers in accordance with company standards.
• A good command of written and spoken English.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for retrieving documents, prepare site survey check list, carryout site survey,  survey reporting, identify clash potential and produce engineering drawings which conform  to technical standards and the application of internationally acceptable engineering  practices.
