Petrofac is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Specialist – PAYE  12-month contract position.

Work location can be one of the following office locations:

·       Aberdeen

·       Woking

·       Grimsby

·       Great Yarmouth

Job Title:  Senior Subcontracts Specialist

Reporting to the Subcontracts Team Lead, the Senior Subcontracts Specialist will manage all sub-contract activities related to Offshore and Onshore Operations and Maintenance subcontracts. They will work on their own initiative dealing directly with the Clients and all key business stakeholders, to strategize, tender negotiate, execute and manage the required subcontracts in line with Petrofac best practice. The Senior Subcontract Specialist will be required to work with the technical and functional engineers, and key stakeholders to develop subcontract templates based on the Petrofac subcontract conditions of contract for use on O&M assets and will also provide support to the procurement teams in all contractual issues raised through the normal supply chain activities.

Main Duties:

·       Development of subcontracts strategy papers.

·       Support asset transitions, including strategy development and negotiation of back-to-back subcontracts in the transition timeframe.

·       Develop the subcontracts asset plan, ensuring that is it delivered, and any tendering activity as required.

·       Prepare, draft, issue and manage Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages, including management of the clarification process, expediting responses, preparing formal commercial evaluation of bids and recommendation to award.

·       Prepare, issue & negotiate approved contracts and contract amendments to selected subcontractors.

·       Maintain and log all contract change authorisations and amendments.

·       Where appropriate, liaise with Client and Asset Solutions stakeholders in UK for legal, tax insurance and compliance to obtain their input into subcontracts.

·       Negotiate contract terms with suppliers in line with Petrofac Best Practice and prepare justification for any significant exceptions for senior management approval.

·       Ensure any agreed contractual position is approved in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix.

·       Where appropriate, ensure that the contract terms drafted to ensure full back-to-back coverage.

·       Prepare & review contract approval paperwork (SSJ, RRC, BURRC and Tender Board paperwork) in support of ITT’s and awards.

·       Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role.

·       Support operations managers, project Managers, technical authorities, and contract sponsors in presenting the subcontractors’ position to suppliers and advise on their sub contractual rights and obligations.

·       Develop of standard ITT and contract templates for differing categories of activities.

·       Lead and promote a performance culture, including focus on performance and value creation.

·       Assist in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.

·       Contribute to the subcontractor management plan and be responsible for carrying out performance reviews in accordance with the plan.

·       Support asset transitions and provide input in the SCM Transition Plan and constricting strategies.

·       Support price negotiations with suppliers/bidders to achieve demonstrable price reductions, resolving claims and variations
