Job Description:

Our client, a world class copper and gold producer, is currently seeking a Senior Superintendent – Integrated Mine Planning to join their team for both Underground & Surface Production, Operations and Optimization. The primary focus of this role will be overseeing and optimizing mine planning activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources to meet budget.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver long, medium, and short-term plans aligned with targets and budget cycles.
• Collaborate with financial and geology departments to review and update cost models and Ore Reserve reports.
• Ensure ongoing optimization of mining activities through design revisions, updates to block models, and reviews of financial and operating inputs.
• Create blast designs optimized for ore recovery in both open pit and underground mines.
• Identify and develop plans for operational issues affecting mine productivity.
• Support, direct, and influence mine operations to achieve operational effectiveness and maintain safety standards.
• Manage project design and delivery, supporting operational tasks and expansion of facilities and equipment.
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the IMP team to ensure effective planning, cost minimization, and achievement of operating and capital budgets.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related field
• 8 years’ experience across open cut and underground mining
• Mine site experience across a variety of commodities and operational environments
• Senior or Superintendent level experience leading a team
• Software Packages proficiency such as: Deswik, Vulcan, Whittle
• Expatriate experience
• Strong relationship skills and interdepartmental experience
