As a Software Asset Management Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications within the organization. You’ll work closely with other IT departments including
CyberSecurity, Enterprise Architecture and BH Procurement to ensure compliance with policies, adherence to technical standards, and to reduce the risk of legal implications due to non-compliance.
 

As a Software Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for:
 

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of software asset management (SAM) processes and procedures
  • Reviewing and processing software requests for new and re-occurring purchases
  • Helping to manage and maintain software licenses, and related documentation
  • Tracking the usage of various software applications and ensure compliance with the relevant licensing agreements
  • Working closely with the procurement team to negotiate new software licenses and renewals
  • Assisting in auditing software licenses against usage to identify any potential areas of non-compliance
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings through software consolidation, license optimization, and efficient procurement practices
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the CMDB database
  • Generating regular reports on software usage and expenditure for management review
  • Providing support to IT and other departments on software licensing issues
  • Participating in IT projects to ensure software asset management best practices are considered and integrated
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in software asset management

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • Have Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Asset Management or a similar role
  • Have Strong knowledge of software licensing models and IT procurement
  • Have Knowledge of software asset management tool such as Flexera and ServiceNow is a plus
  • Have Knowledge of ITIL or other IT Service Management frameworks is a plus
  • Have Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey thoughts and messages in a clear and succinct manner
  • Have Proven ability to work in a large, cross-functional team
  • Have Excellent organizational skills
  • Operates with a thorough, detail oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated success delivering impact in a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment
