Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public administration, social sciences, events management or similar areas 
  • 10 years’ experience in the events management area. Experience in the private sector or O&G industry is an advantage
  • Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders 
  • Great communication skills and presentation
  • Good interpersonal and listening skills and a heightened sense of diplomacy. 
  • Teamwork and working in close collaboration with other departments. 
  • Able to work under pressure and rigorous respect of deadlines
  • Creativity, attention to details and time management

Activities

Public Relations & Events

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution efforts for a range of Company/Project external events, including donations, expo/exhibitions, inaugurations, events of the oil and gas industry, ensuring seamless logistics and execution;
  • Oversee work being conducted by external vendors in relation to event execution;
  • Innovate and propose fresh ideas to enhance our external event planning and execution processes, by establishing annual external events calendar, including associated requirements, updated periodically in close contact with events leads from client-departments;
  • Being the face in event management, taking charge of tasks such as event setup, registration, and overseeing Company/Project info, audio/visual requirements are all set as approved, ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction;
  • Oversee and prepare, organize, and transport event equipment and branding materials as needed depending on the event nature;
  • For all external events, maintain effective communication and rapport with diverse Company/Project delegates and other key external stakeholders and ensure project branding visibility as per approved approach;
  • Provide support to the Internal clients-departments team on various ad-hoc event projects and related-tasks as required, ensuring corporate guidelines are met, while creating a positive and memorable experiences;
  • Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and event organizers;
  • Maintaining a strong and positive working relationship with events contractors/vendors and venues;
  • Understanding the complex needs of different events, and diverse clients and crucial need to plan in advance;
  • Ensuring the visibility of the events in coordination with the communication manager and the media manager;
  • Support and liaise with the different departments at site when having events, openings, and activities;
  • In coordination with the communication team ensure appropriate branding in all events.;
  • Relationship management with some key stakeholders to be indicated;
  • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required within the Comms Tools Production division scope.

Sponsorship & Donations

  • Manage the implementation of local, regional, and national sponsorship activities ensuring a proper visibility and follow up of governance procedures as well as timelines and all the necessary communication on it;
  • Ensure a proper documentation of all sponsorship and donations initiatives;
  • Liaise with compliance, Legal, Procurement, Stakeholder engagement, support services, Security, Community and Social Affairs, etc. for a proper implementation of sponsorship initiatives.

Context & Environment

This position is responsible for the management of all company related events related to the activities of the Mozambique LNG project including but not limited to engagement with different departments to understand needs and plans and to provide necessary support. It is required that the position has a great level of management of events and can ensure all process from the beginning to the end and maintaining coordination with stakeholders and ensuring reputational benefits for the Mozambique LNG project. The position also requires the management of all related sponsorship requests including the designing, delivery, and management of selected philanthropy initiatives (including administrative, budget and reporting).  As some of the events a very high profile (VIP) a seniority is needed for the position  to secure the level of results that are needed with high profiled events. The position will work very closely with other areas within the public affairs and communication’s department as well as other departments within TEPMA1 ensuring coordination of internal & external events at all levels including site level, Pemba level and Maputo level.
