HYBRID ELIGIBILITY

This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Houston, TX. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Technician is an individual contributor providing support to the Well Factory within the Bakken asset.  By ensuring the highest levels of data quality and working closely with Planning & Design, Midstream, Finance, and several other teams, the successful candidate will help manage the front end of the Bakken Well Factory Value Stream. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assimilating, QC, managing and analyzing pre-drill data in support of team & asset objectives, and working with IT to ensure data is structured and manipulated appropriately. The candidate is expected to work as an integrated part of the larger Bakken asset team and collaborate with others in the internal technician community to define and promote best practices.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Maintain critical Bakken Well Factory planning data, including Well Factory Planner (WFP) and other systems
  • Ensure the highest level of data & process standards are maintained when changes are requested through Management of Change (MOC) or Quarterly Look Aheads (QLA), for example
  • Support regular core business processes (Monthly Forecast, AFE) and less frequent corporate processes such as Reserves and Asset Value Plans (AVP) that both leverage WFP
  • Working with the Manager Well Factory Value Stream and other key leaders, work across the asset to acquire & interrogate data to find optimal ways to manage the Bakken Value Stream
  • Support development and maintenance of project metrics and dashboards

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with data manipulation, management and QC, and analysis
  • Proficient in Excel, VBA, Spotfire, and SQL
  • Must be detail-oriented with an investigative mind and the ability to troubleshoot
  • Must be a proven team player able to manage multiple concurrent priorities
  • Experienced with data manipulation, processing, and analysis of large data sets
  • Own and automate processes to extract data from static reports to/from SQL databases
  • Natural desire and motivation to improve the efficiency of current processes
  • High-performance delivery focus with an emphasis on task ownership and completion
  • Self-motivated with an enthusiastic, methodical, and diligent approach

 

Preferred Experience

  • Programming experience (I.E: FME, R, Python); experience with machine learning models (not required)

 

Education / Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data analytics, or IT/computer science related
