The GOM Engineering Specialist will be part of the GOM Asset Dev WGOM Team
and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.
Technical Support:
· Support team efforts to manage asset inventory and achieve departmental goals, working directly or in parallel with reservoir engineers on:
o Project and Budget economics
o Development planning
o Capital expenditure tracking and reporting
o Well Performance monitoring
o AFE creation and management
o Regulatory documentation
o Partner communications
· Facilitate and expedite AFE creation and tracking:
o Support GOM assets across all disciplines in the creation and approvals of AFE’s related to development and maintenance and/or retirement of offshore assets
o Coordination with Drilling, Completions, Production and Reservoir Engineering, G&G and Accounting personnel.
· Advise and facilitate creation and modification to well descriptions and attributes in corporate databases for all GOM assets.
· Prepare and deliver forecast sensitivities used in planning recommendations for portfolio and field optimization exercises.
· Update and maintain Kappa Server data streams for all GOM wells with high frequency pressure data, and support engineers in PTA workload
· Support management and engineering staff in monthly production forecasting and yearly business planning activities
· Coordinate data gathering and validation to support annual reserve estimation filings for SEC reporting.
· Develop and maintain forecast workflows (including Excel, Spotfire, Access, PEEP, IPSO, PDB and Harmony tools) for monthly budget re-forecast, semi-annual portfolio and quarterly reserve updates.
· Support business development activities by preparing and synthesizing incoming or outgoing data
· Support analog review for reservoir and new technology studies
Data Analysis, Automation and Tool Development:
· Provide data management, analytics and quality control to support reservoir and production engineering and operations staff, working side-by-side with the engineering staff to understand functional and technical requirements
· Create data visualizations and reporting tools for large, complex databases
· Develop and utilize software tools to screen and analyze data, build dashboards and scorecards and support engineering project development
· Manage and QAQC linked production information systems (both electronic and analog), recognizing and resolving data anomalies within the appropriate system
· Develop/maintain analytical and reporting tools in collaboration with Reservoir Engineers for asset tracking and planning efforts.
· Supporting digital oilfield data management

· Provide training, best practices sharing, and mentoring to others, as needed
Frequently interacts with technicians and specialists across multiple teams and departments to progress cross functional projects and knowledge share
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science (AAS) or higher
- Excel and Access developer experience
- Spotfire, Power BI (or equivalent software) administration experience
- SQL Server and Oracle database management experience
- Effective team player who takes an active role in team responsibilities
- Proficient at extracting, manipulating, correcting, and analyzing data
- Proficient at creating intuitive software visualization and reporting tools
- Strong critical thinking abilities, time management skills and ability to work multiple tasks in parallel
- Ability to work with minimum of supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Technical, physical or data science focus
- Python proficiency a plus
- OFM, IHS, SharePoint, PEEP & MOASIC experience
- ArcGIS experience
- Basic understanding of oil and gas operations a plus
