ExxonMobil’s affiliates in India supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global business units for business planning and analytics.
ExxonMobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.

What role you will play in our team
Support static equipment engineering activities for Pressure Vessels and Storage Tanks across Projects and Operations organization in Bangalore, KA
What you will do
- Supports static equipment engineering needs across Projects and Operations organization.
- Stewardship of engineering work quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Supports technical evaluations to address issues with equipment and system design, operation, and maintenance.
- Provides pertinent engineering expertise to Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Reviews project and contractor deliverables as requested to ensure compliance with project specifications, Design Practices, Static Equipment Toolkit guidance, and best practices. Documents to be reviewed may include Piping & Instrument Diagrams, equipment arrangements, equipment specifications, data sheets, vendor proposals, and technical studies.
- Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.
- Coordination of communication between different stakeholders in Projects and Operations organization. Coordination of teleconferences and management of communication and reporting tools (e.g., SharePoint, Meridium, SAP, and Business Focus).
- Supports functional initiatives and maintains discipline documentation pertinent to company facilities.
- Provides technical mentorship to early-career professionals, with emphasis in areas of identified skill gaps.
- Participates in internal networks through which their capabilities can be disseminated to the benefit of others.
- Maintains current knowledge (e.g., through participation in industry conferences / forums) while proactively growing discipline’s technical expertise in pertinent technologies on continuous basis.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from recognized university with minimum GPA 6.0 or above
- Minimum five year’s of experience in responsible roles in static equipment Engineering or design of pressure equipment and storage tanks, and coordination of engineering surveillance activities for projects in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream or downstream oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries.
- Broad and extensive knowledge of Static Equipment Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Design, fabrication & construction experience in:
- Atmospheric, pressurized storage tanks and spheres; external, internal floating roofs and geodesic dome roofs, cold & cryogenic tanks
- Pressure vessels, process columns, reactor and heat exchangers
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Familiarity with pressure equipment rerate and repair assessments per API 510 and NBIC.
- Experience of engineering assessment of existing storage tanks including Level 1 & 2 FFS, rerating and application of API 653 / EEMUA 159
- Practical experience of storage tank repair, including the development of work scopes and repair options
- Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting storage tank integrity issues
- Knowledgeable of mechanical properties and degradation mechanisms for common materials of construction such as carbon steel, low chrome and nickel alloy steels, austenitic stainless steel, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willing and able to travel, as required, for extended periods.
