JOB TITLE: STRUCTURAL TECHNICAL AUTHORITY II
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and maintaining all relevant discipline engineering strategies, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure regulatory compliance and the safe and efficient operation of Petrofac-operated assets, supported assets, and contracts.
- Identifying discipline-specific safety and environmental critical elements (SECE’s) during safety case development, developing, and maintaining the structural performance standards. Authorizing the resulting SECE assurance routines in the maintenance system.
- Assessing and authorizing the deferral of SECE assurance activities and planned maintenance activities in the maintenance system.
- When SECE’s fail to achieve the performance standard requirements, provide advice on how to close the risk gap, with mitigations, to an acceptable level. Endorsing the asset’s ORA and contributing to the asset’s cumulative risk assessment.
- Endorsing SECE suitability and reliability reviews, recommendations for remediation of degraded equipment, and reviewing Verifier comments and recommendations.
- Approving operational changes and modifications via the Management of Change.
- Providing integrity guidance and support within the general structural discipline typically involves the following elements:
- Topside structures on fixed and floating assets
- Subsea jacket structures and appurtenances
- Fitness for service of safety-critical elements
- Integrity risk assessment and mitigation
- Providing ongoing structural assurance in line with performance standards.
- Engaging with HSEx on technical matters, when required.
- TA offshore leadership site visit attendance
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline.
- Chartered Engineer or 10+ industry experience??
- Knowledge of offshore engineering and operations
- Knowledge of Structural Integrity Management processes
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Offshore medical and BOSIET certification
- Appropriate level of HSE experience obtained through the oil and gas industry or offshore exposure.
- Good behavioural and communication skills for dealing with customers and a diverse workforce.
- Sound technical discipline knowledge
- Working knowledge of STAAD would be considered advantageous.
- Structural analysis and design capability would be considered advantageous.
- Ability to work in a team problem-solving environment with an ability to apply sound independent judgement in the support of a resolution to complex and non-routine problems.
- Ability to take the initiative and work unsupervised to meet schedules and quality objectives.
- Ability to lead and influence technical discussion.
- Ability to investigate and interpret data.
- Sound report writing ability.
