The Subsea7 Conversion Programme is a tailored scheme that aims to enhance transferable skills and give the opportunity for experienced professionals from different backgrounds to develop their new careers in the energy industry through:

  • assignment to a live project,
  • ongoing training on both Paris and London offices,
  • structured development and mentoring,
  • visits to vessels and construction sites.

The programme proved to be the starting point for many engineers to develop their careers within our sector and become leaders in our organisation.

With a good experience running the programme in 2023, Subsea7 is delighted to announce its return this year in our London and Paris offices.

To join this innovative programme, we are seeking candidates:

  • from a wide range of industries and backgrounds,
  • with demonstrable role relevant experience,

  • and a minimum of 4 years of experience.

There are mixture of roles available in the Conversion Programme, including engineering and commercial departments:

Several different disciplines are participating in the Conversion Programme. For each opportunity, a summary of the main responsibilities is detailed below. All applications should be sent in English, and we encourage you to send a cover letter indicating the role/discipline you are interested in.

We expect you to have some years of relevant working experience in professional environment in your chosen field. Onshore or offshore, we want you to embark on a journey of opportunities, continuous learning and development.

 

Project & Installation Engineer (London, Lisbon and Paris)

Engineer Level I provides engineering skills to projects, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessels & equipment and offshore engineering processes. Compliance with and delivery against project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required. The Engineer will usually work as part of a team and may also be required to provide information and engineering guidance to other functions within the business.

  • Develop methodologies for installation of permanent products, subsea structures, topside structures, mooring systems and renewable energy systems
  • Support tenders by undertaking feasibility checks, time estimates and equipment selection
  • Develop and issue procedures for work to be carried out by onshore and offshore personnel
  • Specify and review the design of installation aids and other equipment required for use offshore
  • Prepare and deliver project briefings to offshore construction teams to ensure all safety and quality issues, either from risk assessments or procedures, are passed to all personnel involved
  • Monitor offshore engineering issues, third-party subcontractors and the offshore construction schedule

 

CAD (London and Paris)

CAD Designer will coordinate and participate in the production of high quality 2D and 3D drafting support for all engineering, sales & marketing-, vessel related- and operational disciplines.

  • Technical education related to mechanical, structural or civil engineering.
  • Experience in design/drafting of steel structures.
  • Experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Experience in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Ability to function within a multiple disciplines design team across multiple projects.

 

CAE Engineer (London or Paris)

CAE discipline main aim is to support Engineering Teams and Projects. You will work closely with various Engineering Departments and global teams alongside engineers and developers. A part of your assignment requires regular communication with IT and the Digitilisation Teams within the Subsea 7 Corporate business.

  • Aiding development of engineering tools with software development knowledge and processes
  • Aiding development of internal processes using digital initiatives in order to provide more efficient project execution.
  • Providing training and support for internal engineering automation tools
  • Writing test scripts for our internal tools and running them
  • Supporting user engagement for tools and being a point of contact for engineers within the company to troubleshoot, provide information and support.
  • Maintaining DevOps environment, managing incoming bugs and feature requests from users

 

RPL Engineer level II or senior (Paris)

Rigid Pipeline engineer will contribute to the in-place design of subsea rigid pipelines, for tenders, FEEDs and EPCIs, as well as to discipline activities such as continuous improvements and technology developments.

  • Provide skills in key areas of subsea rigid pipeline/spool engineering, in accordance with client’s specifications / scope of work, design codes and Subsea 7 guidelines, including but not limited to field layout / routing design, mechanical design, thermomechanical design, engineering of stabilisation, freespanning, lateral buckling and walking mitigation/control measures, post-lay assessments
  • Perform rigid pipeline/spool in-place design calculations and analyses.
  • Contribute to producing material take-off, design reports, technical notes, engineering drawings (in collaboration with CAD designers), design review slide packs, technical scope of work, technical queries, deviation requests, risk assessments etc., for tenders, projects.

 

RIAU Level 2 Engineer (Paris)

Integrated within the RIAU team the engineer will be supporting tender and project for the Technical follow-up of the purchase order for product such as Flexible, Umbilical, Subsea hardware.

  • Understand Client (alliance and internal technical stakeholders) needs to develop Technical Scope of Work for Suppliers.
  • Interface with SCM / Supplier to evaluate the various proposals, support the selection of the Supplier through Technical Bid Evaluation.
  • Plan, detail and review technical documentation (from Subsea7 and from Supplier) relating to the product itself (such as Flexible / Umbilical / Power Cable / TCP / Subsea hardware), but also Topside interface, End terminations design, Ancillaries, and other associated hardware.

 

Structure level I/Level II Engineer (London and Paris)

Subsea Structural Design Engineer will provide engineering skills to the Structures and Piping discipline. Compliance with project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required.

  • Preferably Master degree but Bachelor degree with good work experience well fitted as well
  • Degree in Mechanical , Civil ( with structural analysis background) naval architect and aerospace engineer 
  • Anyone with FEA experience or beam analysis type , design experience , well understanding of design process and able to deliver both report and drawings 
  • Engineer with Aerospace , building and car manufacture experience can be converted to oil and gas Subsea business.
  • Ability to function within a multiple disciplines design team across multiple projects.

 

Project control (London)

The Project Controls & Performance Specialist is responsible for championing of Project controls and performance management systems on our projects. The position performs a consultancy role to project teams to ensure consistency of Performance Management.

  • Ensure proper and consistent application of Project Control systems for our projects, Documentation, Planning, Risk & Opportunities, cost control, reporting. Ensure the delivery of governance and compliance with Subsea 7 standards.
  • Ensure standardised ways of working in the region across all projects to allow consistency of project Controls & Performance Management. Assist all regional projects at kick-off stage to maintain a consistent and uniform approach to Project tools and Performance Management.
  • Harness value and performance KPIs from key project management tools and systems including; convergence plans, schedules in Primavera & MS Project, Procurement plans, Document control systems, DPRs, SAP, Subcontractor schedules & documentation progress, Risk registers, interface & action registers.

 

SCM (London and Paris)

SCM Engineer is responsible for activities and deliverables for their procurement package in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones and cost, with focus on meeting the Project’s overall schedule and profitability.

  • You are the PO Owner. In your role you don’t have full knowledge and expertise of all aspects of the PO but you shall mobilize and coordinate all necessary resources inside and outside the Project to ensure the safe, timely, on budget and compliant delivery of the PO.
  • You coordinate with other disciplines (Engineering, QA, QC & HSE) to ensure all requirements are included in pre-qualification and tender documents – including contractual flowdowns – and prepare/issue the Request for Quotation to the suppliers of the Bidders list using SAP Ariba tool.
  • Preparation of Subcontract document, Supplier Commitment Approval (SCA) and the contractual deviation matrix for Management approval.

You understand the requirements of the Project (scope of work, delivery schedule, budget, flow-down conditions) and how the PO integrates in the Project execution plan and interfaces with other Project activities.
