Our summer internship is a 7-weeks programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our Norwegian internship will begin on 23 June and ends on 8 August 2025.

The position
The Projects, Drilling & Procurement business area includes the project development function area, which has the purpose to regulate project portfolio management, project management and control, and facility engineering. The marine operations sector is part of facilities engineering and includes the geotechnical department, which is responsible for delivering services connected to site characterization, foundations design and installation of offshore structure as well as pipeline and cables in nearshore/landfall areas. This includes planning and follow-up of soil investigations, geohazard evaluations, delivery of geotechnical design basis, foundations engineering and support to installation. The department delivers its services towards all the business areas within the company (oil and gas, low carbon solutions, renewables, etc.), both in Norway and internationally.
Example of tasks that could be expected:
• Develop and further update the foundations installation database, implementing a user-friendly dashboard for efficient data visualization and tracking of relevant installation data.
• Back analysis of foundations installation data for implementation of learnings from installation in different types of soil conditions and for different foundations types.
• Develop and further update the geotechnical soil investigations database, implementing a user-friendly visualization of relevant geotechnical parameters.

For this position we are looking for those with:
• Currently studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong academic record within Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• Fluent in English.
• No more than two years of relevant full-time work experience.
• Have completed at least two years of higher education before the internship programme starts (23 June 2025).
• Have at least one year of higher education left after the internship programme ends (8 August 2025).
• The interns need to be located in the country where the internship takes place during its entire duration. Equinor does not support any relocation for our summer interns.
• Candidates must have the necessary work permit for the country in which they are applying for a position. The work permits must be valid at the point of application and for the duration of the employment. • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work are an advantage.
