Summary
The WTX Warehouse Supervisor is directly responsible for supervising operations and safety within the warehouse while ensuring inventory levels are maintained to a degree that matches the fluctuating demand of products, minimizing investment by assessing demand activity, assessment and controlling warehouse inventory, and the maintenance of vendor relations. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor supply store inventory levels and investment values
  • Documenting inventory usage history and turnover ratios
  • Oversee inventory planning, stock level monitoring, and inventory control procedures. Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet demand without overstocking or stockouts
  • Oversee the handling, shipping, receiving, and storage of supplies and equipment
  • Supervising a team of warehouse assistants with their various roles and duties
  • On-board and progressively train new warehouse employees
  • Assigning daily job duties and workload to warehouse staff members
  • Notifying freight companies of upcoming shipment requirements
  • Conducting JSA and CTA meetings with warehouse staff
  • Assigning warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage to achieve full warehouse optimization
  • Supporting internal/external customer requirements
  • Sourcing new vendors associated with materials
  • Negotiating price and purchase of buyouts and inventory materials
  • Initiate pricing agreements with inventory suppliers
  • Assign storage locations for inventory products
  • Physical restocking of inventory in bin locations
  • Conduct pre-inventory warehouse preparations
  • Working within financial systems, in particular, the SAP purchasing modules
  • Identify obsolete materials
  • Working within company purchasing policies and procedures
  • Adhering to company safety guidelines and procedures
  • Various other duties as required
  • Managing all Supply Chain streams
  • Managing Supply Chain budget

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Level of confidence and experience in Excel
  • Exceptional knowledge of Oilfield consumables
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work well with and lead others while under minimal supervision

 

Education

  • A degree or diploma in a related discipline is considered an asset

 

Experience

  • Five (5) years of oilfield supply experience, including three (3) years in a supervising capacity
  • Drilling rig product knowledge is an asset
  • Experience in SAP purchasing and inventory an asset
  • MRP experience required
  • Exceptional knowledge of Oilfield consumables
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with and lead others while under minimal supervision
