SURF Engineer

Airswift is seeking a SURF Engineer to work on a Contractor position in Rio de Janeiro with an Oil and Gas Company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
– Ensure HSE requirements are taken into consideration during installation design and installation phases and that design is approved by Third parties (Certification and/or Classification and/or MWS) when applicable.
– Ensure that contractor HSE plan is properly bridged with LAPA HSE plan and that contractor implement the necessary prevention means to minimize risk to people and Company/contractor assets, at any time during the installation phase. – Participate to the SURF installation risk assessment and following mitigation measures, in close coordination with the contractor risk management team.
– Liaising closely with the HSE Operation Engineer and Interface and Subsea Production Manager to define whether proper COMOPS/SIMOPS dossier is required before undertaking any UFR offshore activities. When identified, following the COMOPS and SIMOPS dossier preparation by CONTRACTOR. Provide necessary support and assistance for COMOPS / SIMOPS dossier elaborated by COMPANY (for LAPA NE)
– Participating in various technical reviews (COMOPS, SIMOPS, Hazids, Hazops, Hira, Project Technical Reviews, Risk Assessments…) and ensuring implementation of recommendations as necessary. Engineering:
– Review and validate all relevant Engineering / Qualification / Procurement documentation (procedures, analyses, calculation notes…) related to installation and issued by Subsea Contractors and other Interface Contractors.
– Ensure that the contractor works as per the project specifications, including Company general specifications and international codes.
– Check that Engineering / Qualification / Procurement activities related to installation are performed in line with TOTAL General Specifications and issue proper derogations, if required.
– Liaise with all System Leaders (it means with riser, flowline and umbilical leads for LAPA SW) for all system related installation matters as necessary to resolve installation related issues.
– Check that for all installation activities all documentation is reviewed as required by certification/classification and MWS entities and reporting any shortcomings. – On call-out, participate to all testing/trials organized by Contractor that might impact and/or validate installation engineering and installation procedures.
– To ensure that all necessary installation engineering documents are in place and signed by all relevant parties’ prior starting offshore campaign

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 
– Graduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline with MSc or equivalent – Good organizational skills and proven ability to organize and set-up an efficient team
– Sound background in Oil and Gas installations, marine operations and offshore construction.
– Strong experience in Design and Installation of Subsea / Deepwater Steel Structures or previous exposure to major subsea EPCI projects.
– Good knowledge of international marine rules / maritime law / industry standards and TOTAL general specifications.
– Ability to prioritize activities, identify critical aspects, propose solutions, lead specialists or third parties, summarize and present complex installation issues including transverse and interfaces matters.
– Fluent in English (verbal and written)
