Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people.  We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Surface Planning Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Delaware Basin Business Unit based in Houston, Texas

Essential Job Duties: 

·        Identifying and planning development facility locations, pipelines, new roads, power lines routing and incorporating results into model interpretations for recommendations. 

·        Facilitate field onsite review of facilities with construction, regulatory and government personnel. 

·        Work closely with surveyors and construction to stake new facilities locations, pipelines, power lines and new roads. 

·        On a daily basis, the Surface Planning Engineer will be incorporating the facility development cycle into the surface planning workflow by means of scenario analysis. 

·        This role will also incorporates the assessment and recommendations of facilities operational flexibility and scalability for multiple development models,  identifying and planning facilities development design, pipeline routing, CTB/Pits locations, and incorporating results into model interpretations. Working with the multi-discipline team to evaluate existing and new infrastructure on a field-wide basis. 

Day-to-Day 

Facilities Planner will be responsible for coordinating with well planners and development teams to bring a facilities plan to life.  This includes routing and facility siting, submitting and tracking survey requests, evaluating plats, and preparing and presenting an overall surface use plan to stakeholders.  This will include multiple projects at once.  Facilities Planner will keep the projects moving forward by resolving obstacles that would otherwise hinder progress 

Qualifications

 

·        BS/BA degree in engineering, engineering technology, environmental science, or similar. 

·        Minimum of 5 years of environmental, planning or engineering experience with at least 2 years working on upstream/midstream oil and gas or pipeline projects.  

·        Experience with Arc Products (ArcMap, ArcGIS) 

·        Siting & routing studies experience 

·        Worked closely with engineers to permit/site facilities and/or pipelines. 

·        Detail oriented and able to support management of multiple projects at once. 

Preferred: 

·        Permian Experience 

·        Understand survey plats and technical drawings. 

·        Experience with facility design requirements (CTB, Pipelines, Compressors). 

·        Basic understanding PLSS and Texas land grids. 

·        Any technical coding experience.
