About Houston
ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The Trading Risk & Compliance System Analyst is responsible for supporting key Trading Risk Operations business applications, reports, and associated interfaces used globally by the Trading business. These applications, including the Global Risk Reporting, enable our business understand and manage risk in order to capitalize on commercial opportunities. The person filling the role will work as part of the global support team on base support, enhancements, projects, and business consulting as required.
A strong understanding of the supply and trading business paired with effective communication skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and core technical skills are foundational to the success in this position.
What you will do
As part of a global IT team which supports our growing trading business within the Global Trading Company. The position provides opportunity to grow technology knowledge while working closely with the business to expand business process knowledge in the new asset-backed trading (ABT) capabilities, Trading Risk & Compliance System Analyst translates business requirements to IT requirements, and works closely with the developers to build analytical reports using SAP HANA, Snowflake for data modeling and Tableau for visualization. The employee will also have the chance to learn more about our new asset-backed trading (ABT) capabilities while developing valuable system enhancements focused on enabling new supply trading activities and growing value through Digital Transformation.
- Maintain data elements / update configuration and training documentation within designated tools
- Provide troubleshooting for end-users, Provide Level 2/3 support for bugs and fixes, work on enhancement and projects according to priorities set.
- Implement improvements to the business processes and analyze new business scenarios to determine if can be met with existing design, or if new development / configuration is needed
- Participate in decision making processes and business committees as required
- Act as custodian for interfaces to co-dependent applications
- Agree testing approach with users for changes and projects, Carry out testing
- Develop functional specifications for custom program (reports, enhancements or interfaces) and configuration
- Utilize and advise Development Team for technical design and construction
About you
Sills & Qualification’s
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT-related fields
- Extensive experience in end-user application support
- Experience with an Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems (4+ years) and asset-backed trading principles (e.g. position management, priced inventory, etc.)
- Working knowledge on trade and risk management processes (Profit & Loss, Price Exposure, Value-At-Risk, etc) and management/performance reporting
- Working knowledge of business application product lifecycle (design, implementation, change management) and business analysis techniques
- Working knowledge with Data Analytics processes (visualization techniques, stored procedures, data modeling, table functions, etc)
- Strong understanding of SQL, know how to debug and troubleshoot using SQL
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able / willing to travel internationally on occasion (< 10%)
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional IT and business teams
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
- Working knowledge of Agile Frameworks (i.e. Scrum and Kanban)
- Experience with SAP HANA technology
- Experience using Tableau
- Experience using Snowflake, PowerBI, Oracle, or other equivalent Data Analytics tools
- Ability to manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities
