WRS is seeking an experienced Turnaround Scheduler to support the planning and execution of turnaround projects at one of our clients crude oil refinery in Mount Vernon, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in turnaround scheduling, preferably within the oil and gas or refining industry, and will work closely with the project management and operations teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of turnaround activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed turnaround schedules, including pre-turnaround, execution, and post-turnaround phases.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement teams to coordinate scheduling activities.
- Analyze project timelines, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Update and monitor the progress of work during the turnaround, providing regular status reports.
- Use scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to manage turnaround projects.
- Ensure that all turnaround activities are completed within budget and on time.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, and risks to key stakeholders and recommend adjustments.
- Participate in daily/weekly planning and progress meetings.
- Provide input to improve future turnaround processes and scheduling efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in scheduling turnarounds, shutdowns, or large-scale maintenance projects in the oil and gas or refinery industry.
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
- Strong understanding of refinery operations, processes, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a crude oil refinery environment.
- Certification in project management or scheduling (PMP, PSP).
The turnaround is expected to begin in March. This contract will be approximately 6 months, offering per diem, overtime, and benefits.
