Activities
- Join our affiliate TotalEnergies One Tech Belgium based in Feluy !TotalEnergies’s Automotive, Recycled and Compounds (ARC) Business Unit (wihin the Low Carbon Solution entity) develops and sells Polypropylene (PP) and PP-based compounds to the automotive industry and has established a very good position with all European car manufacturers such as VW Group, Stellantis, Renault Group, PORSCHE, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and their Tier 1 equipment manufacturers (Motherson, OPmobility, Forvia, Magna, FlexNGate…). ARC is also active on non automotive markets (agroindustry, electronics, water management…) thanks to its resins and special compounds based on polyethylene (PE) and polystyrene (PS). On both markets, ARC is proposing fully or partially recycled alternatives and promotes solutions with reduced environmental footprint, in order to meet TotalEnergies and our customer’s carbon neutrality targets. ARC materials are transformed by its customers into exterior and interior parts in light vehicles (e.g. bumper, body panel, door panel, interior trims…) ARC is a fast-growing business that is globally expanding its production and sales activities, focusing on the development of recycled polypropylene applications while intensifying its activity in China and North America.
As a Technical Assistance and Development Engineer, you will be integrated into the TSD team in charge of the development and the technical assistance to our customers. Some products are painted and unpainted exterior grades; the main customer requirements are the good vprocessability, the perceived quality (exterior aspect of painted or non painted surfaces), dimensional stability over time , but also resistance to thermic and climatic ageing. The grades for interior application, airbag housings or under the hood applications might also be subject to odour, emission or flammability requests. The carbon footprint of the product is the background of the vast majority of the developments, leading to the integration, or even the substitution of virgin materials by recycled ones.
In this context, the main missions will be :
– interface with the internal and external laboratories working on the project, synthesize the results and present it during the follow-up reviews;
– be the referent of the technical documentation and updates of the technical databases of the products on which they work;
– in a support function to the technical manager, you may also be in charge of the follow up and coordination of the technical claim solving, with the help of the TSD engineers and the concerned plants;
– in a second step, as you increase your skills, you might be required to interact with customers on specific projects under the control of the project manager.
