Permian Basin Overview

ConocoPhillips and its heritage companies have operated in the Permian Basin for almost 100 years. The transformational acquisitions of Concho Resources Inc. and Shell Enterprises LLC’s prolific positions in the Delaware and Midland Basins in 2021 further strengthened the company’s position in the Permian Basin. At year-end 2023, the company held approximately 1 million total net acres in the Permian Basin.

During 2023, net production averaged 719 MBOED.

Description

The Permian Water Management team is seeking a Water Production Analyst with background in production data workflows, data analytics, and water production reporting.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Serve as Focal Point of Contact for all SWD injection and water production related topics.
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the quality of all water production data for the Permian (Delaware & Midland Basin)
  • Maintain continuous engagement with team members, assets and vendor, as well as oversight on partner’s water production reporting to ensure completeness and accuracy of production data
  • Work closely with Production Engineers, operations and asset to identify reported water production, recycle and forecast water data by leveraging actualized and forecasted data.
  • Coordinate water production to disposal tracking from operated wells by coordinating with contracted water disposal companies
  • Build, maintain and optimize water production reports and data analytics tools (Spotfire/PowerBI) as needed
  • Coordinate SWD permits tracking for regulatory and ESD needs
  • Provide ad-hoc support for studies and special projects

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • 3+ years of experience in the energy industry as an Engineering Technician/Analyst
  • 1+ years of experience as Production or Reservoir Engineering Analyst
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Spotfire and PowerBI
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in Business, Engineering, other related degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, and R scripts
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with various industry databases and software (Spotfire, ValNav, Generwell, Wellview, TDM)
  • Demonstrates strong technical database management best practices, recommends changes to improve existing processes, and implements data QA/QC methods
  • Utilizes skills to develop new workflows and best practices to solve problems effectively.
  • High level of initiative, energy, and creativity
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
