What role you will play in our team
We are seeking a skilled Wells Completion Research Engineer to drive innovation and enhance our well performance across global assets. In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, leveraging research insights to optimize drilling, completions, and well management. Your work will directly impact our operational efficiency and environmental stewardship.

What you will do
- Conduct research on well completions, including design analysis, operational considerations, and well operability limits.
- Evaluate critical design and operating parameters through data analysis and trend monitoring.
- Understanding FEA and CFD simulations and their applications
- Scripting for automation, solving numerical problems, optimization, proxy modelling and basic GUI deployments.
- Collaborate with Wells teams to provide design and operational support for cost-effective execution.
- Monitor drilling and production data, used data diagnostic techniques for developing innovative technologies.
- Integrate findings with adjacent disciplines (facilities, reservoir, geoscience) to enhance well performance.
About You
Skills and Qualifications
- Masters with thesis or PhD in petroleum, mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering from a recognized university (minimum CGPA 7.0).
- Minimum 3 years of research (academic/Industry) experience on equipment design using modeling, simulation and data analysis partially or fully in Upstream/Wells with applications to drilling, completions, or workovers.
- Knowledge of petroleum engineering concepts, including wells drilling, completion designs, production analysis will be an added advantage.
- Experience with Engineering Applications such as Ansys, Abaqus, Reveal, ResFrac for solving unconventional wells completions or geomechanics related challenges. Applications of these software outside of Oil and Gas industry will also be considered. However, experiences related to Oil and Gas industry and specifically Unconventional Wells completions through hydraulic fracturing will be preferred.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in one or more programming languages such as MATLAB/Python will be preferred.
- Experience in computational and/or data science (e.g., machine learning, optimization) will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication and leadership skills are essential.
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making
