Nigeria complies with oil production commitments, eyes increased output

Port Harcourt — The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has announced that the country is in full compliance with its oil production commitments.

Lokpobiri announced that the country is now strategically working to increase its production capacity, driven by a commitment to advancing Nigeria’s interests, ensuring economic stability, and maximizing oil sector potential.

“The 55th Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, JMMC, reviewed the commitments of member countries to upholding production quota and the continuous evaluation of the oil market’s dynamics. Interestingly, we are in full compliance with these commitments,” Lokpobiri stated.

However, the Minister also revealed that Nigeria is not resting on its laurels, as it is “strategically working to increase our production capacity.”

This move, he explained, is driven by a commitment to advancing the best interests of Nigerians, ensuring economic stability, and maximizing the country’s oil sector potential.
